Note to ALL applicants: All materials should be submitted online through Purdue University's Graduate School Online Application. Additional materials sent to the Department of Statistics WILL NOT be accepted.
Applicants are encouraged by not required to take the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). Applicants whose native language is not English are required to submit the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). The Department of Statistics will accept either the TOEFL or the IELTS. The minimum Internet-based test scores are as follows: Writing 20; Speaking 20; Listening 20; and Reading 20; and the minimum TOEFL Essentials English score is 8.0. Higher scores are preferred for those applicants who wish to be considered for teaching assistantship. No TOEFL or IELTS score should be older than two years. A minimum score of 6.5 or higher is required for the IELTS.
The requirement to submit TOEFL or IELTS (for applicants whose native language is not English) scores will NOT be waived. The ONLY exception is if you are applying to the 5th year Applied Statistics MS program.

An application for admission to each department must be submitted through Purdue University's Graduate School Online Application. See instructions above to apply for a M.S. or Ph.D.
A Concurrent degree applicant is a student who is currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree in one department and wishes to pursue a Master's degree in another department (both departments must be at Purdue University). The student must submit a Concurrent Graduate Program Request Form GS-18 with the signatures of both department heads.
When you apply through Purdue University's Graduate School Online Application it will appear as though you are applying to the Graduate School as a regular graduate student (even though you may already be enrolled in the Graduate School through another department). Once you reach the question asking for the Enrollment Objective, select the Certificate Program option. It will default to the information needed to complete the application.

Once you reach the question asking for the Enrollment Objective and select the Post-Baccalaureate Program (Non-degree) option, it will default to the information needed to complete the application.

Transcripts (all applicants) and Copy of Diplomas (International students only) should be uploaded on The Graduate School website.
Applications for Fall 2023 admission must be complete by December 31, 2022.
For spring admissions, applicants must have all materials submitted by October 15 th .
In anticipation of delays for admission of international students, non-US citizens are urged to complete their applications as soon as possible, and well in advance of the departmental deadline.
